Our Little Get Away- Part 1

We were able to go down to San Antonio with a few friends this past weekend. Colins' spring break is actually this week. It's hard for Chris to take off during the school holidays so we took Colin out of school Friday and headed out on Thurs. night. We camped at a KOA that had decent facilities (thank goodness). Friday we went to Sea World! We planned to get all of the shows in that day. The weather was perfect. It got up into the 90's, but with the wind it was very nice!
Here is our group- minus Austin. My mom was SOOOO kind to keep Austin for us! He would've hated to sit in the car and stroller for two days esp. while his brothers got to galavant around.

the Sea Lion and Otter show

Colin stood at the fence of a water ride and got soaked. He said that was the best part of going to Sea World (go figure)!

The boys went on the shamu roller coaster. I don't think Colin liked it all that much, but Cameron thoroughly enjoyed it. He even went on a big water ride Saturday (details to come later)Of course you can't miss the Shamu show. I was really disappointed with all of the shows. There was a lot more music and entertainment done by people instead of the animals. In years past when I've gone the animals are doing trick after trick that kept the crowd in anticipation for more. But not so much this time. We were wanting a lot more from the animals, but it could be that it's the beginning of the season and the animals are just getting back into the swing of things.

The dolphin and beluga whale show had a lot more action from synchronized swimmers, acrobats, and a little from the animals.

We got to see a Pirates 4-D film. The element of surprise was great. Water squirted at us from the seats in front of us. Air puffed out from the top of the seats we sat in and water dripped from the ceiling imitating bird droppings. Cameron didn't particularly enjoy this activity, but it was pretty cool.

And to end the night on a delicious note, we had s'mores and Chris treated us to some dutch oven peach cobbler! Cameron is helping him prepare our dessert.

So fun! What a nice getaway! We loved Sea World when we went last year! We went to 3 or 4 shows and only one of them bothered me (with how much the people did), but I've never been before and don't have anything to compare to! Hopefully the boys still liked it!

That looks like so much fun. I'm sure Austin would have been miserable if he was there.

Oh how fun!! I agree with you on how the animals need to do more tricks. Cody and I went to Sea world in CA this last winter, I've never been before and expected more from them and less music and long pauses. But... Still tonz of fun!! :> By the way... I'm loveing the changing station!! :> Thanks!
