This is about what time we went back to bed after being suddenly awakened early Saturday morning (4AM) by our FIRE ALARMS!
The boys were out of bed and running to our room almost as fast as we were. I had to wake Austin up and put all the boys in the car and drove out to the parking lot. In the breezeway water was pouring off from the third floor. No one could smell or see smoke, but nonetheless the alarms were ear piercing. And they were going off in the whole building. Everyone was standing outside in the 27degree weather. The fire dept. came and couldn't figure out how to get the alarms off. Finally the maintenance guy was able to after being outside for 1 HOUR. And can you believe that some kids actually slept through it???

So, a water main that supplies the fire sprinklers had ruptured and was sending gallons of water from the attic down below.

We were a few of the lucky ones, though. Thank goodness the sprinklers inside the apts. didn't go off, but there was significant damage to the apts. next to us. It took them 4 hours to vacuum up most of the water in one apt. which they guessed was around 200 gallons. No damage as of yet in ours, but with the amount of water that was coming down through the wall who knows if we'll see something in the next few weeks.

And on a lighter note the boys have been loving to read books lately. It's so much fun to watch. Cameron has one Cars book memorized and Austin is always bringing books to us to read or he'll just look through them himself. I caught them the other day reading on the couch.

Oh man that stinks. The first winter we moved into our house we had possessed fire alarms that would go off randomly during the nights...always at night. Waking up to that noise totally freaks me out!
So you had to wait outside that whole time???

I love the story reading picture - so cute!

Becki, ummm lease isn't up until June!
Laura, we were lucky and just sat in the car with the heater on in the parking lot. I wasn't about to try to keep three boys warm by sitting outside!

Yikes, what a horrible way to wake up. Glad you sat in your car though, that was a brilliant idea. How could kids sleep through that noise?

Cute photo!

I think that is a sign to find a house NOW! How crappy. I think your apartments should be having yall live there for free. Dang. Call me when you get back in town.
