HHHEEEEELLLLLPPPPP!#$%%$&&^*(^&@#$!

I don't think I can say it any louder (via internet at least). I need a plumber d he won't come until tomorrow! I was enjoying a show tonight and Chris was rehearsing a quartet song for church on Sunday. All of the sudden I hear dripping coming from my kitchen. The sink had backed up to the tip-top and was overflowing. EEEWWWHHH....yuck. I ran to grab all the old towels we have. I'm not about to use my new bathroom ones. Then I call Chris and he doesn't realize the extent of it. He did rush home, though. Then I called the office because yes, this is a maintenance emergency.

you can see the water dripping down the sides of the cupboards.
I guess if the pipe is backed up underneath the ground and someone on the two floors above us are using their sink or dishwasher it's going to back up into our apt. What...I must've missed this memo. I must say, though I'm grateful it's not sewer backup. Maintenance went to the two floors above us and asked them not to use their kitchen sinks or dishwashers anymore tonight. I must've been inspired to sit on my butt all night and NOT do my dishes! (actually I did them earlier today).

if you look closely you can see the water is halfway past the island on the right

I'm just hoping that it doesn't spew out anymore water overnight because I really don't want carpet damage. big kitchen=more area for water to collect.

this is the last time I looked...it'd slowly receded

HOLY COW!!! I am so sorry. That totally stinks. We had the same problem in our apartment in Phoenix (but not nearly as drastic). It is not fun at all.

I hate to say that I did get a laugh out of the pictures because of the extent of water that was all over your floor. That was amazing just how far it went!

I hope everything is fine now!
