HAPPY EASTER!!!!

We had a nice weekend. Friday night I went to girls night out with some young ladies in my ward. It was a small turnout, but we didn't expect much being a holiday weekend. The older boys spent the night at my moms as well that night. They were reluctant at first but had a fun time staying up late to watch a movie and go out for ice cream.

Chris put the first 20 miles on his new bike when he rode in a bike rally called Tour Dallas yesterday morning. He sure was not expecting the 40 degree weather for it, but was well prepared by Friday evening. He is very pumped to do more tours and even some races in the future. (He better put that bike to good use).

Then later that afternoon we got together with Chris' family and had a little Easter egg hunt for the children. The plan was to do it outside, but all the kids have had some form of a cold or cough in the past few weeks and we weren't about to let them play outside. So, grandmas house worked just fine.

This morning Chris and I were still in bed when the boys got up and found the baskets that the Easter bunny had left for them. They were so excited. It is fun to hear the things they have to say when they don't know we're listening. Colins' came with a basketball, water bottle and candy and Camerons' with two motorcycles and candy.

The boys also got new Easter shirts to wear to church and looked so spiffy today. I don't know about you other moms with boys, but it's so hard to get a picture of them. ESPECIALLY when daddy doesn't want to take the picture. I practically had to beg him to get one of me and the boys. I have very few of those because I'm usually the one taking the photos. Since we were in a hurry to get to church here is the sequence of events when we got home!

He finally wanders over and hides behind Colin and me...but Chris caught his little head poking through.

We all laugh at Camerons gesture and are happy now...this is as good as it gets!

and one more thing...

We were driving home from my parents tonight and the boys were shooting knock-knock jokes back and forth to each other. Cam thought he'd join in and proved to be Chris' son once again. This was his joke:

Q: Why did Lightning McQueen (from the movie CARS) cross the road?

A: To go to Walmart to get some Lightning clothes

then he added...

Q: Why did Tow Mater cross the road?

A: To go to Target to get some Mater clothes

We just died laughing. So, Lightning shops at Walmart and Mater at Target.
