Sum, Sum, Summertime

Summer is coming too fast. I am almost dreading the long days with my boys wanting to play outside. Let me explain why. I think I have adopted about 5 other boys in the neighborhood. I am the only mom that sits outside to supervise their children play. Therefore I get to:
*break up arguments

*run to the aide of anyone that has gotten hurt (this has happened a little too often lately)

*have an anxiety attack while the boys race their bikes & razor scooters around the parking lot (in hopes that a car doesn't hit them)

*decide if I want to give them all snacks/drinks

*pump up flat bike tires

*help them balance on roller blades that are too big for their feet
*tell them NO 100 times that they can't ride our bikes because they've bent the frame or scratched them up in the past

*look at smashed bird eggs on the road
&
the #1 job that I will get to enjoy outside of the swimming pool this summer is:

having the boys find a decapitated 1.5 ft. snake, pick it up with a stick and fling it around not only in the others' faces, but MINE!

How can I predict that this #1 item will happen?

Because it happened today and I'm sure there is more where it came from. OK I admit it... I got mad. After yelling at the boy holding the stick he flung it into the bushes. He thought it was pretty funny. I almost tossed my cookies and still have the willies thinking about it.
Here's the gang of little rascals. They range in age from Cameron up to 3rd grade.

I'm sure you can't wait to get a house!! I cannot believe these parents just let their kids play outside by themselves and they probably have no idea where their kids are.

I would dread the summer too if I were you! But I admit, it all sounds pretty funny just reading it!

Gross! I can't believe you get stuck watching all those crazy kids...it definitely does NOT sound like fun. At least you know YOUR kids are safe. Your such a good mom.

Mindy, You are too nice to sit out there and put up with that. I think I would just take my kids to the park instead. Sorry about that snake, you poor dear. Give yourself a hot footbath tonight.

Ewww...I hate snakes. What crazy kids! You ARE a good mom! I would probably go somewhere else rather than worry about other people's kids.
