...TEACHERS LET THE MONKEYS OUT!
We were really close to taking Colin to school this morning, until my brother called and said that his school was closed. I had looked out the window when I got up with Austin in the early morning hours but it wasn't sleeting at the time. So, after Colin had already eaten and was dressed by 7:05 we saw on t.v. that school had been cancelled. The worst part was the black ice on the roads. Chris had to go to work and took my explorer because his truck doesn't handle icy roads too well. He got home around 4:00 which was nice.
So, with the little bit of sleet that had already started to melt on the ground, the boys wanted to sled. Notice how much sleet/snow has (not) accumulated on the ground.

They had fun anyways. The ground was frozen just enough to go a few feet on the 'sled'. Sitting and standing.
Teaching the value of money is one of the great duties of parents. Colin has been saving his money for quite a while now and decided that he wanted a necklace. So after searching three stores we found one that mom and dad would like as well as Colin. We got to the register and counted his coins and he bought that necklace. It was cute to see him get so excited to get his own receipt, too!
