Dallas Zoo

I caught Austin smiling at his Aunt Megan.

The past few times we've been to the zoo I've been pretty disappointed because it was way too hot for the animals to even come out to be seen, or there weren't any animals in many of the exhibits. Well, a few days after Christmas I took the boys and went with my brother in law, his wife and their son. It was great weather and most of the animals were out in plain sight. But oh, the best part was right before we left we walked past the lions and decided to walk by. The male lion then made his way right up to the fence and started roaring!!! It was very loud. Colin hugged me and Cameron covered his ears. You could feel the vibrations. He wasn't even mad and it was loud. Imagine if he were going to attack! It was a first experience for us to hear that and it was just amazing. Unfortunately I couldn't get to my camera in time to capture this site.
The kangaroos even started jumping around while we were watching them.

It was fun to watch the penguins actually go for a swim.

I know what you mean about the zoo. I hate going when none of the animals are around! That lion roaring sounds like it was an awesome sight AND sound!

We had a once in a lifetime experience at the zoo the last time we went. I will have to tell you about it later.

I LOVE going when it's cooler. I am hoping it is warm enough next week to go to the Fort Worth zoo because the animals are always more fun when it's not a billion degrees.

The Fort Worth zoo is a lot better, too. Have fun!
