School Program

About a week ago the first graders had a music program. They had been learning about the history of Texas and the state fair of Texas. Colin was chosen to be a narrator and he along with four other students stood at the front of the risers for easy access to the microphones. It was a very nice program. They had put a lot of time into practicing...i.e. not going to P.E. and recess some days in preparation. Here are a few pics.
The primary also did their annual sacrament meeting program today and Colin did very well. He had his scripture memorized and sang all of the songs. Each class sang a verse of Follow the Prophet and Cameron even joined in from the audience during the chorus. Needless to say he had a few people giggling around us.

The boys sometimes have a hard time staying in their bedroom at bedtime. Don't most kids! Well, we ask them to not come out unless they need to use the restroom or we will lock the door. Well, more times than not someone ends up getting physically or emotionally hurt from playing together. Last night they kept coming out and we locked the door. Cameron does not like it AT ALL when we lock it, and I understand. But I also know he's old enough to understand the consequences. Well, after crying for about ten minutes at the door it finally was quiet. When I knew for sure they were asleep I went in to check on them and here's what I found. Luckily there are two doors leading to their room (one from the bathroom) because I wouldn't have been able to get in if there wasn't. Then Colin was tired of listening to Cameron cry so he covered his head with the pillow.

Mindy, your boys are adorable. I remember doing the Texas music program. My music teacher probaly wrote the one Collin did, she wrote a ton and the whole school district uses them now. I think it's so cute that he got to be a narator! Wish I could have been there. I'm sure as soon as Kaitlyn can get out of bed I'll have the same situation. I loved the pics. Love you, Christi

Colin is so big! Sometimes I forget that he is as old as Jeremy, when you don't see someone for a while you forget! Speaking of forgetting, I guess I didn't realize that Cameron and Isabella are that close in age. I thought Cameron was already in primary, but I'm guessing he moves into primary in January and Bella does too. For some reason having her move into primary makes me feel old - don't tell me why b/c there are tons of young parents with primary aged children.
