a NO DADDY Weekend

The past two days the boys have been without their daddy. Chris works half days, two Saturdays out of each month. Today was not one of those days. Instead he got to go on a kayak trip with the priests and laurels in our ward. They went to San Marcos last night and are driving home tonight. I decided to do some fun things with the boys since I normally have no energy whatsoever.
My boys get very grumpy if they watch too much t.v. So last night I unplugged the t.v. anticipating them wanting to watch cartoons this morning. Well, they did ask to while I showered but I said no. When Colin went to turn the t.v. on he was like 'it's not working, mommy.' Oh really! I told him it must be broken and being very quick to respond he was like 'no way. Daddy must've unplugged it. TV's don't just break.' He didn't get upset but just went about his business playing with Cameron.
They played very nicely while I got ready and I gave them the list I'd made of things we could do. They chose to first ride the DART train, which they loved. Then we went to Chuck E Cheese. My mom and brother were on their way home from his baseball game and stopped by to have some fun, too. I was thankful because I was starting to hurt from standing so long at the games.
Later that evening we had dinner, bathed in preparation for church, and had a family popcorn/movie night. It was a very enjoyable day. I'm always curious about how the boys will be when Chris is gone more than normal. Here are some photos I took of our day.
Colin loves the fake teeth you normally get at Halloween time. Today he picked these fancy purple ones out with the tickets he won and wanted me to get a picture. They're kind of funny because they're a bit small, even for his mouth.

What a fun mom you are! I know what you mean about letting your kids watch too much tv, we can't watch it at all in the mornings anymore unless I'm prepared for major tantrums! Your DART pictures are adorable!
