I am so happy to report that for two and a half days Cameron has been in 'bummy-wear' (as my Grandma Buzzy calls it)! I started him on Monday and he did ok until late afternoon. He then had two accidents within an hour of each other-one on our carpet and one on his bed. Luckily he has a waterproof pad under his sheets. I was kind of frustrated and put a diaper on him for the night. That night Colin used the restroom as he does every night before bed, and Cameron said he had to go, too. So big brother helped him take his diaper off and they both stood there and took care of business. I was pleasantly surprised! So, the next day I put him back in underwear and he didn't have one accident. That was two days ago and with a little bribery to get candy if he goes on the potty, he's done great. He even went poo after dinner last night on the potty!!! Without any hesitation he just sat down and did his stuff.
He hasn't seemed interested, but with a little encouragement and help from Colin he's ready. Colin was this age too, so I wasn't stressing about it. I knew that it'd be less headache for me if I just waited until they were ready (mentally and physically). Of course I would prefer him to sit down to go #1, but when he sees Colin stand all the time what can I do. It was great to train Colin sitting down. He actually had a hard time standing in public places. I'm still in awe of my Grandma Buzzy who had five kids all toilet trained by the time they were 18 months.

Potty trained kids are great aren't they? My mom claims to have all 6 of us trained by 18 months, as does my grandma...part of me wonders if they're just too old to remember specifics! :)
