Last weekend we attempted to go camping. It's the only weekend we'd be able to go until Dec. and probably not then because it's such a busy time of year.
Well, there was a chance of rain up at Lake Texoma where we'd planned on going. We got up there around 8:30 Friday night, set up camp, had smores and cobbler and enjoyed our friends company. Saturday I slept in until I think 9 while the men cooked breakfast. After clean up we took the kids on a hike down by the lake. The view was beautiful! After a bit it started sprinkling so we headed back to camp. The storms rolled in something fierce and we were huddled under our canopy. Austin was pretty scared. The other kids might have been, but showed no signs of it. I had Austin sitting on my lap for quite a while and tears flowed down his cheeks. I said a little prayer with him and asked that we be protected. We found out from voice mails and texts (thanks dad) that there had been tornado touchdowns right where we live and were headed towards us. About 20 minutes later the rain let up just enough for us to finish loading the trucks and head home. When we got home, it was lightly raining and Chris rinsed everything off with the hose and air dried it in the garage. What a mess, but it was a relaxing time that we needed.
The garage still smells like camp!
