Life Goes on...

Wow, it's hard to blog very often these days. I accidentally deleted pics of the boys on their first day of school, but all went well. I was out of town the night of meet the teacher and Chris couldn't pick the kids up and get to the school before it was over. No big deal, though. I'm so grateful that these boys weren't nervous. They at least went on Saturday and saw who was going to be their classmates. Austin even had his backpack on with wheels as we walked Colin and Cam to their classrooms. In actuality Colin ran ahead and ditched his mom and headed to his class. I walked Cameron to his and then went to Colins' to at least meet his teacher. We didn't even make eye contact. I had to laugh when he said he saw me walking out as I was leaving!

I've been dragging Austin everywhere trying to get this and that done. But we do find time to do some fun things! He's been entertaining himself wearing my shoes a lot lately! Oh, and he told me I needed to buy a new baby as we were driving in the car a few days ago. I laughed and asked him if he wanted a boy or girl. No surprise he said boy!
And as we were saying bedtime prayers Austin busted out with 'peace out' with the two fingers poking out! We sure couldn't hold our laughter in.

Colin started flag football and had his first game yesterday. It was great to only have a 55 minute game. He did pretty good. Seeing him on defense brings back memories of myself playing basketball in young womens'. I was quite the pistol and for some reason always fouled out!

Chris is playing on a city basketball team, and the two of us are playing on a coed softball team. We had our first game Friday night. It was a lot of fun. We haven't played since Colin was a toddler. It was very nostalgic for me during that game. As a child I remember going to my dads' softball games and having a great time playing with friends. That was pretty much all we heard were the kids running around screaming and having a wonderful time with friends. There is even a playground in the center of the 4 diamonds for more entertainment.

It may sound like we are so busy, but not really. I'm grateful that Colin is playing through the YMCA and only has 1 practice a week...unlike the city football league that has 3 or 4- plus a game. It's ridiculous in my opinion. And it's that way for the kids that are 6 & 7 yrs old and up. I know I say that now and Colin could possibly play in that league in the future, but oh how I will resent it! I'm all about simplicity...check out their 'jerseys'...cotton shirts. No fancy football jerseys. *off the soap box*
Colin is showing off his skills in the video on our pull up bar.
